The American Optometric Association recommends the following Examination Guidelines:
- Infants & Toddlers should have an eye examination by 6 months of age, and another exam by 3 years of age.
- Children should have an examination before entering school.
- School age children should be examined every 1-2 years. If your child wears glasses or contacts, yearly exams are important.
- Adults should have an exam every 1 to 2 years. Your eyes may feel healthy, but certain eye diseases develop without any pain or noticeable symptoms. Schedule a preventative eye health examination at least every two years, and more frequently if recommended by your eye doctor.
